Services
The Main Line Center for the Family is a full-service child, adolescent, and adult psychiatric practice, using psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and testing to diagnose and treat emotional and behavioral conditions, including:
- Anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, obsessive compulsive, and panic disorders;
- Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and disruptive behavior disorders;
- Bipolar disorder;
- Couples issues;
- Dementia, and other cognitive disorders;
- Depression;
- Eating disorders, including anorexia and bulimia nervosa;
- Learning disorders;
- Pervasive developmental disorders, including autism and Asperger’s disorder;
- Professional and career development issues;
- Substance use disorders, including alcohol, amphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and opiate abuse/dependence;
- Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders;
- Sexual and gender identity disorders, including sexual dysfunctions;
- Sleep disorders;
- Somatoform disorders, including pain disorder;
- Tic disorders, including Tourette’s disorder.
The Main Line Center for the Family offers comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations administered by a certified school psychologist. Psychoeducational assessments identify an individual’s specific learning skills and challenges. They are necessary to attain numerous educational resources, including:
- Extended time accommodations for in-school assessments and standardized tests, such as the SAT or ACT;
- Qualifying for gifted curricula;
- Developing an Individualized Education Program (IEP) with the school to meet your child’s learning needs;
- Identifying strengths and weaknesses to tailor specific learning support strategies.
